Papers

Parallel sessions are foreseen for the presentation of scientific / technical papers. The global scientific and technical communities are invited to exploit APMS2012 to disseminate their original research results.

Papers - submitted as Extended Abstracts (at least 2.000 words) - will be blind peer-reviewed. Accepted papers of registered participants will be included in the Conference proceedings. Please consider that at least one author per paper must register by the registrations deadline date. If none of the authors is registered, the paper will not be included in the Conference programme and in the proceedings.

Then, presented papers will be included in the Conference post-proceedings (book) published by Springer in the series called "IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology" (IFIP AICT). Authors will be asked to improve their final paper to be included in the Springer book after the Conference. A copy of the published book (edited by Springer) will be sent to the paying attendees.

Selected papers will be considered for development into journal papers for a Special Issue in Production Planning and Control, as well in other journals.

Extended abstracts should be prepared according to Springer Instructions for authors available at:

right arrowCall for Papers and Special Sessions

For the last several years, APMS is a major event and the official conference of the IFIP Working Group 5.7 on Advances in Production Management Systems, bringing together leading experts from academia, research and industry.

APMS 2012 is looking for high quality contributions in key areas of Competitive Manufacturing, including Innovative Production Management Systems and Services, Enabling Technologies for Advanced Manufacturing, Enterprise Information Systems and Interoperability, as well as Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Production.

A special sessions’ call is now open (see important dates), to raise visibility on topics of focused interest in a particular scientific or applications area.

Special sessions proposals should be submitted by sending a 1-page summary to info AT apms-conference DOT org outlining the session objectives and topics, as well as details of the session organizers. Comprising a number of papers focussed on a specific theme, it's a great opportunity to address a topic with the right depth, giving it the proper visibility, and allowing also time for discussion and networking.

APMS could be an ideal venue for research initiatives and projects to hold special sessions or workshops in their thematic area.

Extended abstracts will be blind peer-reviewed, looking at both the academic as well as industrial value of the paper. Accepted papers of registered participants will be included in the Conference proceedings. Presented papers will be included in the Conference post-proceedings (book) published by Springer in the series titled "IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology" (IFIP AICT).

Authors will be asked to improve their final paper to be included in the Springer book after the Conference. A copy of the published book (edited by Springer) will be sent to the registered attendees.

Selected papers will be considered for development into journal papers for a Special Issue in Production Planning and Control, as well in other journals.

APMS invites Ph.D. researchers to submit papers to be included in the Doctoral Workshop.

Following the tradition of past APMS conferences, two types of awards have been planned for APMS 2012 participants:

  • Burbidge Awards for Best paper and best presentation,
  • Doctoral Workshop Award.

Regular and Special Session Papers and Doctoral Workshop contributions can be submitted using the on line system (available in due course).
