Gratitude message

Dear APMS 2018 participants,

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to you for your active participation in the conference. Through the valuable presentations and fruitful discussion, we all were able to exchange ideas, concepts, theories, and experiences to pave the way for the future manufacturing, as we have strived to realize the theme of the APMS 2018 conference. As a result, your contributions and dedication brought the great success to our conference.

The number of participants reached 198 consisting of 61 from Korea and 137 from 27 countries. Most presentations have been delivered except 6 due to unexpected absences. 9 Ph.D research proposals were presented at the doctoral workshop. 26 participants attended the research workshop and gave 3 presentations. In addition, 98 participants visited manufacturing plants for Hyundai Mobis and LG Electronics.

Once again, we appreciate your contributions and friendship for APMS 2018 and hope we will meet again in the future APMS conferences.

    The conference proceedings are now available at “PROCEEDINGS” tab. Please note that free-access is activated only if you access the link through the "PROCEEDINGS" page and will be activated for approximately four weeks which starts on Aug. 25 and ends on Sep. 25.

How to get to Seoul National University (Conference venue and Hoam Faculty House)

You can see both the subway system map and SNU campus map at the following link:

To conference venue,
(Airport Limousine) You can simply take a bus numbered “6003” from the airport terminals. It will take you at the main gate of SNU. The name of bus stop is “Seoul National University”. You need to take a bus numbered “5513” and get off at “College of Engineering Entrance” bus stop on the SNU campus. If you want to look around the campus, you may walk about 15 minutes over slight uphill road.

(Subway & Bus) You have to get to the station named as “Seoul National University”. You need to get out of Exit 3 and take a green bus numbered as “5513”.
The destination bus stop on the SNU campus is called “College of Engineering Entrance”. You may choose a taxi from Exit 3 of “Seoul National University” station for around 5 dollars. (See the green route on the campus map).

To Hoam Faculty House,
(Airport Limousine) You can simply take a bus numbered “6017” from the airport terminals. It will take you at “Hoam Faculty House” which is the final stop of the bus route.

(Subway & Bus) You have to get to the station named as “Naksungdae”. You need to get out of Exit 4 and take a green bus numbered as “02”. The destination bus stop on the SNU campus is called “Hoam Faculty House”. You may choose a taxi from Exit 4 of “Naksungdae” station for around 4 dollars. You can reach the conference venue by this bus as well (See the red route on the campus map).

How to get to Gangnam Areas

(Subway) You may use the subway system.

(Airport Limousine) You can take KAL (Korean Airlines) Limousine bus numbered “6703”. This bus will stop at major hotels in Gangnam area including Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam Hotel, Ramada Seoul, Imperial Palace, etc. You can consult the information desk at the airport or please refer to the following link for the more details of directions and fares:

Public Transportation Card

We offer a public transportation card called “T-money”, which has 10,000 KRW value (around $10) and the how-to-use guide to foreign participants upon registration. You may want to use it for bus or subway.

Welcome Reception

The APMS 2018 Welcome reception will be held at the B1 floor (multi-purpose auditorium) of Building 38 on Sunday evening (6:30PM on August 26) Every participant is warmly invited with the casual dress code.

Opening Ceremony

The official opening ceremony of the APMS 2018 conference will be held at 9:30AM Monday (August 27) in Building 38, Room 520. The opening ceremony includes two keynote speeches and a speech on Korean culture. Please refer to the following link for more details:

Gala Dinner

The gala dinner for the APMS 2018 conference will be hosted at 6:00PM on Tuesday (August 28) in Building 38, B1 (multi-purpose auditorium). It is featured with the award ceremony, introduction of APMS 2019, and the Korean musical performance before the dinner, which will start around 7:00PM. The dress code is smart casual.

Industry Tour

The conference includes on-site visits to Hyundai Mobis and LG Electronics. The tour will be on August 30. The list of participants in industry tour and a brief schedule is posted on the conference website. Our bus must leave the SNU campus from Building 38 at 9:00AM without any delay due to the tight schedule. Please arrive at Building 38, no later than 8:45PM. ※The graduation ceremony will be held on August 29 on the SNU campus. Please note that heavy traffic congestion near the conference venue is expected.

  • Completion of the reservation for Hoam Faculty House

    We completed the enrollment of our reservation list for Hoam Faculty House as from August 13, 2018. Please note that one-night room charge will be imposed if you cancel the reservation from now on. Thank you for your interest in our accommodation and we hope you to enjoy your stay!

  • Regarding the reservation for Hoam Faculty House

    Although standard double and twin rooms are fully reserved, we are still holding 9 deluxe double rooms with 133,650 KRW per night in Hoam Faculty House.   • Regarding APMS 2018 program schedule

  • Regarding the completion of APMS 2018 proceedings

    Thank you for your contributions for our proceedings. We have submitted camera-ready papers to Springer to publish our official proceedings in two volumes. Please note that the online version of the proceedings will be accessible from the beginning of our conference. Free access lasts for 4 weeks after the conference.

  • Regarding the room availability at Hoam Faculty House

    As informed earlier, we have reserved 50 rooms including 6 standard doubles, 24 standard twins, and 20 deluxe doubles under “APMS 2018” for the special conference rate. However, the standard doubles and twins are already sold out but several deluxe doubles are still available.

  • Regarding participation in industry tour

    Thank you for participating in industry tour. We have uploaded the list of participants in "INDUSTRY TOURS" section under “PROGRAM” tab in the following website: http://www.apms-conference.org/programindustrytours/ Although the application of industry tour is officially closed, we are still accepting participants in a waiting list for the tour.

  • Request for conforming to author guideline

    When you submit a camera-ready paper, you must strictly conform to our author guideline including the format of your references and 8-page limit. Your submission will not be published in our proceedings if the requirements of the guideline are not satisfied. The current length of our proceedings contains 2 volumes that already exceed 1000 pages in total. Springer requires the strict page limit when they publish the proceedings. For the publication in our proceedings, please note that either the corresponding author or one of your co-authors should register at our conference with a full payment before early-bird registration due date, July 15, 2018.

  • Notification of the second review

    We are glad to inform you that the notification of the second review will be released by July 4, 2018. Please ensure that you submit a camera-ready paper and copyright form by July 10, 2018.   • Notice for the status of revised papers

    Please note that "1st revision is under review" is not available for the current confTool system. If you already submitted your revised paper and the status is shown as "1st revision required", it means that your paper is currently "under review". Thank you for your understanding.

  • Regarding the room availability at Hoam Faculty House

For Doctoral Workshop at APMS 2018.

“Marco Garetti Doctoral Workshop at APMS 2018” will take place on the morning of Sunday, 26 August 2018.
The accepted proposal will be presented at the workshop.

Please find some information about the format of the workshop.

1. Your research proposal is currently under review by our panel of APMS researchers. You will receive feedback on the 5th of July, 2018 at latest.
2. You will need to revise your proposal by the end of July.
3. You will need to prepare a presentation before the workshop.
4. You will be assigned a research proposal from another Ph.D. candidate (around the end of July) and be asked to provide feedback at the workshop. Note that the research proposal is confidential and must be used only for review and comments in the scope of the workshop.
5. Attendance at the workshop is included in the conference registration fee of APMS and the student registration is required for each participant.
6. You may ignore the email regarding the requests to upload the revision (on the 31st of May, 2018 from the central manuscript management system of APMS 2018). The request was sent out for the regular conference paper, not the research proposal for the doctoral workshop. You will be getting the review results mentioned in 2 above.

  • Regarding reservation of Hoam Faculty House

    After a full payment on registration for APMS 2018, your room will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis. Please note that registration without a payment will not be subject to our reservation list.

  • Registration

    The registration for APMS is now open! Please register at http://www.apms-conference.org/registration. Please note that you have to login the ConfTool system to register. The paper will be included in the final program if the conference fee is paid by at least one authors from each paper.

  • Notice for on-site accommodation

    Hoam Faculty House in Seoul National University has reserved 50 rooms under “APMS 2018” for the special discount. During the registration, you may have an option to choose this accommodation and find more details. It will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis.

  • Review results

    If you have not received review results for your paper, it is quite likely that the mail from APMS might be put into the spam mailbox in your mail system. You can check the review results by logging into your account and selecting "Your Submissions" - > "Review Results" menu. If you have any further question, please contact the APMS secretariat.

  • Submission of revised papers

    We are now coordinating the final publication format with Springer, the publisher of the conference proceedings. We expect to activate the upload option for the revision by May 28.

  • First round review results

    We started to notify the first round review results. Please note that the review results of some papers (about 15% of papers) will be delayed about one week due to the late reviews. We will try to disseminate those results as soon as possible.

  • Update of reservation at Hoam Faculty House

    New information on a reservation at Hoam Faculty House has been updated in "Accommodation" under "Venue" tap in our website.

  • Regarding submissions of reviews

    Dear session chairs, PC members, board members, and reviewers, Thank you for your dedicated endeavors for APMS 2018. Our plan is to notify the first round review results to the authors on May 15. Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if you could submit the reviews before May 10. We are currently assigning the last hour submissions to the reviewers. We expect that the reviews for those papers could be a bit late.

  • Regarding update of papers

    All the submitted papers are currently under review except doctoral research proposals. We recommend that authors should not update their papers to avoid unnecessary confusion. Authors can update their papers when they receive the first round review results in mid May.

  • Deadline extension

    The deadline of submission of research proposals for doctoral workshop has been extended to April 30, 2018

  • Template update

    The template of research proposals for doctoral workshop has been updated.

Objectives and Scopes of APMS 2018

The objectives of the APMS 2018 conference are: (1) to share up-to-date issues and knowledge of production management among leading experts from academia and industry, (2) to disseminate research papers, case studies, and state-of-the-arts reports on production management, and (3) to provide guidelines and insights to pave the way for future manufacturing systems.

Program

The program includes presentations and discussions of high-quality peer-reviewed papers, in addition to insightful keynote speeches. A doctoral workshop (26th), special sessions (27th-29th), and industry tour (30th) are included in the conference program.

APMS 2018 will be held at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. The city has become a capital of Korea since the Joseon Dynasty in 1392 and represents the heart of Korea wave and cultural heritage for 5,000 years.
