Industrial Tour

Industry Visits will take place Thursday September 17th, 2026. Places for the industry tour are limited. A registration form will be shared with the conference participants. Places will be filled on a first come first served basis.

ABB

In 2020, ABB’s Dalmine plant was recognized by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development as a Lighthouse Plant — a flagship manufacturing facility serving as a hub for research, innovation, and industrial production, as well as a benchmark for the dissemination of Smart Manufacturing practices.

During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to observe the operation of the plant’s production lines and discover the intelligent electrification technologies that ABB is developing to support a more sustainable future.

Same Deutz-Fahr

SDF (Same Deutz-Fahr) is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tractors, harvesting machines, autonomous electric tractors, and diesel engines for the agricultural sector. Headquartered in Treviglio, near Bergamo, the company has a long tradition of innovation dating back to 1927, when the Cassani brothers developed one of the world’s first diesel-powered tractors. Today, SDF markets its products under the SAME, DEUTZ-FAHR, Hürlimann, Grégoire, and VitiBot brands and serves customers worldwide through an extensive network of production sites, commercial subsidiaries, importers, and dealers. Tenaris Dalmine

Tenaris is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes and related services for the energy industry and industrial applications, providing solutions that also support the energy transition, including geothermal energy, CO₂ transport and storage, hydrogen, and wind power. Committed to sustainability, Tenaris aims to reduce CO₂ emissions per ton of product by 30% by 2030 through the increased use of renewable energy, circular economy practices, and the adoption of best available technologies. TenarisDalmine is Tenaris’s Italian operating company, with a 120-year history, approximately 2,000 employees and five manufacturing facilities. The company also operates a combined-cycle power plant, primarily serving its own facilities, which supplies a district heating network for both internal and external users.

During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to explore the main production processes, discover advanced automation and quality control technologies, and gain insights into how digitalization, artificial intelligence and sustainable manufacturing practices are driving industrial innovation and operational excellence.
